Summer Reading Begins
Readers of all ages, we will again use the READsquared app to log your reading this summer, beginning May 30, 2025.
For youth from birth through age 17, each minute of reading equates to one point. Earn an electronic raffle ticket on the app for every 100 points, redeem tickets to try to win one of our magnificent prizes. Kids also earn 50 points for every youth event that they attend. Complete Summer Reading 2025 by July 19 by earning 1000 points, and you can then register for our End of Summer Reading Party with Great Lakes Science Center's "Magic of Matter". Kids also get to choose a book to keep forever once they complete Summer Reading. And every time kids visit the Library, they get to place stickers on our sticker poster (wonder what picture it will make this year?), drop marbles down the marble run for every book they check out, and vote on what color hair Ms. Pam should have at the End of Summer Reading Party! (Again this year, we will have paper reading logs if that works for your family, but all minutes must be eventually logged onto the READsquared app by July 19 in order to officially complete Summer Reading, earn points, and try to win a prize.)
For adults, earn 200 points for each book that you read or listen to. Points can be used to purchase raffle tickets for prize drawings.
Teens and adults can participate in our new Summer Reading Passport Challenge. Teens (ages 13 and up) and adults can do 8 of the 12 challenges listed. Passport booklets will be available at the Circulation desk. Once they have completed 8 of those, they turn in the form at the Circulation desk to receive a prize.
